Best Streetwear Finds

Fabric weight decides everything in this category. Thirty pieces from 220gsm tees to 480gsm loopback hoodies, ranked on what buyers kept rather than what the listing claimed.

Fabric weight is the one number that separates streetwear you keep from streetwear you quietly stop wearing, and Chinese marketplace listings quote it openly in gsm (grams per square metre) because the shops sell to trade buyers who ask. A cheap high-street tee runs 140 to 160gsm. The tees on this list start at 220gsm and stop around 300. Hoodies work the same way: 280gsm is thin, 380gsm is the honest everyday number, and 480gsm is roughly the ceiling a loopback machine will run before the seams start fighting the cloth.

Weight on its own is not quality, though, and this is where most first orders go wrong. A 400gsm cotton-polyester blend can feel plasticky where a 320gsm ring-spun loopback feels dense and dry, so read the composition alongside the number. Loopback terry leaves the loops uncut on the inside and holds its hand for years; brushed fleece is warmer on day one and mats by month six. Ribbing matters more than people expect: 2x2 rib with two to four percent elastane keeps a cuff from flaring, and pure cotton rib will not.

Before you order anything, ignore the size letter completely and open the measurement table every serious shop posts. You want three figures in centimetres: chest laid flat, body length from the high shoulder point, and shoulder width. A properly boxy cut shows a 10 to 14cm shoulder drop against a regular one. Measure a garment you already like and wear, then compare. After that, check whether the shop shoots its own photography or leans on renders, and ask your purchasing agent for extra QC shots of the armhole stitching and the inside of the hood.

The common mistake is chasing the biggest gsm number on the page. A 480gsm hoodie weighs around 950g in a parcel, takes most of a day to air dry, and three of them will cost more to fly to Europe than two of them cost to buy. The second mistake is ignoring shrinkage: heavy cotton loses two to three centimetres of body length on a hot wash and a tumble dry. Either buy one size up and accept the drying time, or commit to hanging everything and buy true to the table.

Before you order

Sizing is where this category actually costs people money. Chinese apparel sizing runs roughly one to two sizes smaller than the equivalent label in Europe or North America, and boxy streetwear cuts confuse that further because the chest is generous while the sleeve is not. Read the sizing reports on each product page before the listing photos: a piece marked runs-small with twenty reports behind it is telling you something more reliable than any size chart. If you are between sizes on a heavyweight hoodie, go up; on a tee at 260gsm or more, stay true, because heavy jersey does not drape over extra room, it just hangs.

Freight is the other half of the bill and it is decided by weight, not price. Rough shipping weights: a 260gsm tee is 180 to 250g, cargos are 500 to 700g, a mid-weight jacket is 800g to 1.2kg, and a 480gsm hoodie is around 950g. Line-haul runs about ¥42 per kilo to Western Europe, ¥48 to North America, ¥30 to Asia-Pacific and ¥68 to Latin America, plus a flat handling charge of roughly ¥18 to ¥26. That means a five-piece order weighing 3kg lands for around ¥145 of freight to Europe, under ¥30 per piece. Ordering one hoodie on its own is the single most expensive way to buy anything here.

Spend more when the construction is doing work: full-zip hoodies with real metal sliders, jackets with taped seams, anything with a lining. Do not spend more on graphics, because print quality above ¥150 stops improving. The honest caveat is that returns effectively do not exist once a parcel leaves China. Your purchasing agent will photograph the item in their warehouse and you can refuse it there, but after it ships, a bad fit is your problem. Budget for one mistake in every first order and it stops feeling like one.

Asked often enough to answer here

The things people email the guide desk about, answered without the marketing gloss.

What gsm should I look for in a hoodie?

For year-round wear, 340 to 400gsm is the sweet spot: substantial enough to hold a boxy shape, light enough to layer under a jacket. Below 300gsm you get something closer to a long-sleeve tee, which is fine for summer evenings but will not read as heavyweight. Above 450gsm the piece behaves like light outerwear, dries slowly and adds real freight weight.

Do heavyweight cotton pieces shrink?

Yes, and predictably. Expect two to three centimetres of body length loss on a hot wash with a tumble dry, and roughly half that on a cold wash line-dried. Loopback terry shrinks more in length than in width. If you like the fit exactly as measured, wash cold and hang dry from the first wash onward.

How much does a streetwear parcel actually cost to ship?

Freight is charged by weight. Baseline line-haul is around ¥42 per kilogram to Western Europe, ¥48 to North America, ¥30 to Asia-Pacific and ¥52 to Oceania, with a flat handling fee of roughly ¥18 to ¥26 per parcel on top. A typical five-piece order weighs 2.5 to 3.5kg. Delivery is normally 7 to 14 days to Western Europe and 8 to 16 days to North America once the parcel ships.

How do I know the quoted fabric weight is real?

You cannot verify it before it arrives, but you can weigh the evidence. Shops that state a specific number such as 380gsm alongside a composition percentage are far more reliable than listings that just say heavyweight. Community photos and the accuracy rating on each product page are the practical check: buyers here report when a claimed 400gsm arrives feeling like 280.

Is it worth ordering a single piece to test a seller?

Test the purchasing agent, not the seller, and do it with something cheap and light. A tee or a cap costs very little to ship and tells you everything about the agent's QC photography, storage handling and timelines. Once you trust the process, consolidate properly: most agents charge no service fee on the item subtotal and take a flat ¥5 to ¥15 per parcel, so one big parcel always beats three small ones.

Same job, not quite the same evidence: usually thinner review counts rather than worse products. Several of these will qualify next time the list rebuilds.
